Treat the multiple triggers behind inflammation for lasting relief from sensitivity flare-ups.
Itching, burning, stinging and redness are the obvious signs of sensitive skin. The triggers behind these sensations are less clear: genetics, hormones, stress, chemical assaults, foods and even aggressive skin treatments can intensify skin’s highly reactive state. The common thread behind irritation, flushing and stinging is inflammation. When paired with the loss of skin’s protective barrier, skin health is compromised and becomes highly reactive.
UltraCalming™ contains UltraCalming™ Complex, our exclusive complex clinically proven to control neurogenic and immunogenic inflammatory pathways that lead to skin sensitivity.

Comments about super sensitive shield spf30:
Recommended this by approved retailer made my skin feel parched, tight and flaky. Product stuck to the dry areas of my skin.
Very unhappy with the product.
Comments about super sensitive shield spf30:
I was excited about this product because when I first used it because it smells wonderful and felt really light going on. However this makes my face so oily and is causing breakouts like I'm a teenager again. It's difficult to find balance in skincare products when I have both breakout-prone AND sensitive skin, but this obviously is not helping.
Comments about super sensitive shield spf30:
Typical sunscreen- may be calming but still thick and casper- inducing. Fine for true outdoor activities but can't be used under makeup. Why did they take away the anti-redness primer!?
Comments about super sensitive shield spf30:
I absolutely love this sunscreen. I have been using prescribed Retin A for the past month and my skin has naturally become more sensitive. I've used every facial SPF Dermalogica has to offer and this one is my favorite. It has a milky consistency. When you first apply it to your face it leaves a white residue (Which I Love!) the white residue let's me know I didn't miss any spots and every inch of my face is completely covered. After about 5 minutes it's completely soaked into my skin and I'm glowing and sun protected! No redness, no irritation! Perfect for those with sensitive skin or Retin A users.
Comments about super sensitive shield spf30:
At first I didn't like using this every day because of the sticky texture. I would just use it if I were to be out in the sun. But I realized it really is suitable for my sensitive skin and does not seem to cause or exacerbate breakouts. So I learned to just deal with the texture, carefully blending my foundation over it. I do not use it as a daily moisturizer; it's not hydrating enough for me. I wear it over a moisturizer. It had become my daily sunscreen. The unfortunate part is that it is pricey and in a very small bottle. So if you use the amount of product you are supposed to for proper uv protection, you will go through it very quickly.

I use this product after cleansing in the morning and I fell in love with it immediately!
It has a lightweight coverage that I love while also giving you the SPF protestant. The product also smells so refreshing!
Comments about super sensitive shield spf30:
I use a couple of Dermologica products and love them, so I was really surprised by how poor this product is.
I have sensitive combination skin. Although the product feels very fluid and lightweight, once applied it feels sticky, greasy and bizarrely drying too. My face felt tight, irritated, and dry but looked shiny, white and greasy!
I appreciate it is a physical sunscreen but I think the formulation should be adjusted. The fragrance is very strong - lavender is calming in some respects but when applied directly to sensitive skin it is not.
Since I can't return this product, I'll probably use it on my body - the one plus point is it's pretty hard to get off!
Comments about super sensitive shield spf30:
Not greasy. Love it.

I used a sample of this before we went to the zoo today. I applied my regular makeup afterward. I have VERY sensitive skin and all other sunscreens irritate my face and burn. This didn't at all. It wasn't too thick and it rubbed in well.
I've been using the entire Ultra Calming line for a few months and I'm very pleased that my skin irritations are almost non-existent now.

I buy it all the time. dermalogica is the best!

Merchant response: Hello,
Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. I apologize for your negative experience. Please note that we do not use artificial fragrance in our products. Any aroma would be from the botanical ingredients. That being said, please contact webhelp@dermalogica.com for help with an exchange. I believe you may prefer Skin Perfect Primer SPF 30 for a physical SPF option. It is silky smooth and not chalky.
Kind Regards,
Bernadette
