Inferior to discontinued ultra sensitive tint

By

from Wellesley, MA

Comments about sheer tint spf20:

I loved the ultra sensitive tint spf 30 for it's feel and also for its sheer color. I just bought the sheer tint spf 30 in medium. It is orangey. Previous product was beige with pink undertone, and I regret the lower spf.

My favorite tinted spf moisturizer

By

from Raleigh, NC

Comments about sheer tint spf20:

I've loved this tinted moisturizer a ton. Have been searching for one across many brands and most leave my skin feeling dry. The softness and dewy-ness - amazing!

Disappointed

By

from Maidstone Kent

Comments about sheer tint spf20:

I usually buy the ultra calming tint but as it was discontinued I bought this one instead. I could not buy the light shade and had to go for medium. The colour was ok but after using it my skin became extremely dry on my cheeks. I stopped using it for a couple of days and then tried it again only for the redness and dryness to return. I have struggled with my skin especially with eczema around my eyes over the last couple of years. The only tint I could use was the ultra calming one. Could you please bring it back as this product is irritating my skin.

What happened to the light shade?

By

from Greenville, NC

Comments about sheer tint spf20:

I switched to this product after the ultra sensitive calming tinted moisturizer was discontinued. I used the light shade initially because I have a somewhat fair complexion that tans with pink and cool undertones. When I went to reorder this product the light shade was no longer available. I ordered to medium shade, but I am wary to open this product in case it is too dark or does not match my skin. I am disappointed that I have had such a hard time lately finding a tinted primer/moisturizer from dermalogica, especially after having a go-to product that I loved. I wish they would bring back the origin ultra calming tinted moisturizer.

Light weight tinted mosteriser

By

from Halifax

Comments about sheer tint spf20:

I use this daily as work in an office and don't like to wear foundation . This is light weight and tinted. This make my skin look dewy with a little colour. Not at all heavy. And this isn't a foundation so please don't think this with give you heavy coverage.

Won't buy again

By

from Chicago

Comments about sheer tint spf20:

Bought this only because they stopped making the Utra Sensitive Tint spf. I was disappointed the second I put it on from the lack of coverage, the fragrance, and lower spf. The Ultra Sensitive had the best coverage with the hydration and protection I was looking for. And it was cheaper. Not sure why they discontinued but every store or salon tells me that everyone was disappointed when they discontinued it. The Sheer Tint is actually drying my skin out.

Used to love the old sheer tint

By

from Rhode island

Comments about sheer tint spf20:

I had used dermalogica sheer tint moisturizer in the light shade when it was spf 15. I was happy to try the new version with sof 20 but when I put it on my face the color seems sooo different than before. It had an orange tint which is exactly what I don't like. The old formula was the PERFECT tint for my face and I miss that product!

I only use this!

By

from NYC

Comments about sheer tint spf20:

I use this product as both a moisturiser, spf coverage and as some tint. I don't like using heavy makeup and this is enough to cover any blemishes and it's also very light as well.

I use medium and have Asian skin colour.

smooth

By

from California

Comments about sheer tint spf20:

This tinted moisturizer goes on smooth and doesn't leave your skin looking like it's got a coat of color on it. That said, if you need full coverage you might need to use this as a base layer before foundation. I like that it has sunscreen in it so I don't have to use so many products.

its ok

By

from Bednd, OR

Comments about sheer tint spf20:

So I was really looking forward to a light tint to put on my face once I washed it but I wasn't pleased with how it looked on once it set.
I really liked how it is applied on the face, it's light, and the color I chose is great (light) but once it sets in and dries it looks like there are flakes all over your face..I even moisturized my skin twice to see if this could be avoided.. wasn't what I was hoping it to be.. Maybe you need to use a primer before you put this on??

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

      Hello,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. Medium would be the closest shade to Skin Perfect Primer SPF 30. However, I personally use Sheer Tint Light and Skin Perfect Primer SPF 30. It depends on your skin since Skin Perfect Primer has a lot of range.

      Kind Regards,

      Hello,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. There is no down side to layering the products in that way. It is perfectly fine to layer SPF in that way.

  • Q:

    Hi,
I used to use Dermalogica Ultra Sensitive Tint SPF 30 but it doesn't appear that you sell that anymore. Has it been discontinued? How is this (sheer tint spf20) product similar or different to the one I am used to?
    Thanks for your assistance.

    • A:

The Dermalogica Ultra Sensitive Tint SPF 30 has been my favorite for many years as it was a physical sun screen an now the Sheer Tint spf20 contains a chemical sunblock. I like the old formula better. Check out the EWG website for toxic chemical ingredient ratings. I started using dermalogica products 20 years ago when I was in esthetic school and still use some of their products. I am very disappointed this particular product has changes.

Is this a moisturizer or a primer? I was planning on adding it to my regime as a primer, after cleansing and moisturizing (not necessarily for the spf protection). Would that fit its purpose?

      Hello,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. This is a wash of color with SPF. For best results, you should use it on top of your preferred moisturizer. It can be your last step in skin care and first step in makeup, like a primer step.

      Kind Regards,

Hey Dani! Not sure if you'll see this, but I am African American with dark skin and I can say the "dark" tone does work! This tint blends very well and is sheer so it works a multitude of skin colors IMO. Hope this helps!
