So far really good

By

from United Kingdom

Comments about oil control lotion:

I've only used this once, i washed my face with the clearing wash from the same product line then used this, aftrr i put my makeup on top with no primer. I normally Get shiney on my chin and T-Zone... the whole day i looked so matt! I had hardly any oil come through and my makeup looked so matt throughout the whole day didnt even need any touch ups.

Only downside is it does dry very quickly and also very runny. I actually dropped alot on the floor, so be careful when taking out the bottle its very runny.

I have been using this product for the last 2 years. Prior to this my forehead was constantly oily and prone to spots. Now after using this alongside the special cleansing gel, I am very happy with my skin.

OMG so effective

By

from NJ

Comments about oil control lotion:

This is the best product for oil control. The mattifier is nice but it has acid in it. This does the same thing but without that burn from the acid after using it a couple of times. Wonderful under makeup- the best product.

Oil Control without the Burn

By

from Vero Beach, FL

Verified Buyer

Comments about oil control lotion:

I like this oil control lotion because it's gentle but still does the job. Some oil control lotions strip my skin and leave it red and sensitive. I use this every morning after washing with the clay cleanser, and it really works well to decrease the oiliness of my skin.

The Best Moisturiser I've Ever Used/Holy Grail Product

By

from London

Comments about oil control lotion:

I've got combination skin so oily t-zone normal sometimes dehydrated cheeks. I find it extremely difficult to fine a moisturiser that works, either there too rich and they make me break out or too matte and they dry my skin out however with this moisturiser it works amazingly, I taught it might be too drying because it's meant for oily skins but I'm so happy it works for me, it just balances out my skin, before using this moisturiser my skin would be oily straight away after cleansing in the morning now it's just balance throughtout the day and I don't wake up with oily horrible skin in the morning, this is my favourite Dermalogica product.

My Summer Moisturizer

By

from NY, NY

Comments about oil control lotion:

Just started using this as my summer moisturizer. I use it after the skin hydrating booster and before SPF (Pure Light) to control my oily skin now that it's getting warmer. Really pleased with it. I was worried the salicylic acid would cause my skin to dry out but that has not happened!

  • Q:

I had a few questions & concerns about the products results ( oil control lotion ) . This has been my regimen prior to sleep considering I have really oily / acne prone skin :
    - clearing skin wash
    - multi active toner
    - clearing mattifier
    - oil control lotion

Although every time I apply the oil control lotion, it tends to leave behind a white / chalky looking residue behind . I feel like it just doesn't fully absorb . I'm an 18 year old male which I assume has nothing to do with it .
    Thanks I appreciate it .

  • Q:

I suffer from moderate adult acne (some cystic), but my skin is consistently pretty dehydrated as well. My t-zone does get oily towards the end of the day. I need a moisturizer that sufficiently hydrates my dry skin without being too heavy/rich for my acne-prone skin. I am not sure if I should try a moisturizer from the Medibac line (oil control lotion/oil-free matte), as I would like the added acne-focused treatment; but am worried that they won't be hydrating enough. On the other hand, I am not sure if another moisturizer (active moist/skin smoothing cream/intensive moisture balance/etc.) would be light enough for daytime use under makeup, or could increase the likelihood of breakouts. Can you help me pick a moisturizer? I currently use Medibac Overnight Clearing Gel at night and previously used AGE Smart Dynamic Skin Recovery as my moisturizer. Thank you so very much!!

      Hi Gracie,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. Calm Water Gel may be a great option for you. It is light weight, calming and hydrating. It won't clog pores. If you like Overnight Clearing Gel for the evening, you may like Calm Water Gel for the day time.

      Hello,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. Oil Free Matte SPF 30 will matte out the skin all day. Oil Control Lotion is for night time use. It contains Salicylic Acid, so it actually exfoliates the skin while it is on.

  • Q:

I just wanted to double check that this product is non-acnegenic and oil free. Sounds silly, but I have been using a sample and noticed some skin congestion. However, it's not uncommon to go through a transition period. Currently using special cleansing gel and a gentle toner by Mario Badescu. Hoping to add this to my skin regimen to decrease likelihood of breakouts/congestion. Thank you!

      Hi Amber,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. This product is ideal for oily or acne skin. However, it is normal to have a purging period. You can use this moisturizer and night and use Oil Free Matte SPF 30 during the day. A spot treatment or masque can help too.

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. If you are using prescription acne medication, please avoid all exfoliants.

Instead, keep your regimen simple. Less is more:

If the product is past the expiration date over a year could this have a negative effect on my skin
Asked on 11/22/2016 by hay from Barstow, ca

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

      Dear Hay,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. Products containing SPF and Acne actives will have an expiration date on the bottle. Once the product reaches the date stamped on the packaging it should no longer be used, otherwise the shelf life for unopened products is about 2-3 years.

All other products have an open jar symbol, which is the diagram drawing of a jar with lid and a number in the jar. Most commonly used is 24 M. This means that once opened, the product may be used up to 24 months. This does not mean however that the product may not have changed in smell, texture or even efficacy it only means that it is SAFE to use based on stability data which differs from product to product but in the majority of cases is 24-36 months.

      Kind Regards,
      The Dermalogica Team
