I washed my face with Special Cleansing Gel and moisturised with Calm Water Gel. The first thing I noticed was that there seemed to be a few hard and rough pieces in the gel as I rubbed it between my palms. I removed those and pat the rest onto my face, avoiding the eye area. The next thing I noticed was the smell, it's quite offensive. The gel leaves a shine on your skin and makes it feel sticky. When I looked into the mirror a few minutes later I noticed clear plastic looking pieces all over my face. I found this really strange so I put some gel onto my hands to see if it left the same pieces and it did. It really puzzled me because I really don't believe that's how this product is supposed to be... I mean who wants to go out with plastic looking pieces all over their face? It's like plastic cosmetic glitter but in flakes. Anyway, I came to this website to see if anyone wrote about it but there was nothing. I decided to leave the gel on my face as I was not going out that evening and I've really wanted to try this product since it came out. As I have allergies I have to be careful what products I use and I have been using Dermalogica's Active Moist for 17 years but there's an ingredient in it that I shouldn't be using so I was hoping the Calm Water Gel could replace my Active Moist. I woke up the next morning with a red patch on my cheek (like sunburn) and general red patchy skin on my face that felt like sandpaper. Later that day the skin around my mouth and nose started to peel. Five days have passed and I've only used it once and my skin is still recovering. I feel like it hasn't even hit its worst yet. I feel like it may take 2 weeks for it to heal as it still feels and looks horrible.
