Poet Gil Scott-Heron has left this earth. We blogged a reference to his fiery “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” just a few hours before his unexpected death – that’s how relevant his spoken-song poem seemed to us.

While the purpose of this blog is not to chat about celebrities, this one gave us a little chill.

Many young hip-hop artists today cite Scott-Heron, who passed away at age 62, as a powerful influence.
