Torn.....

This cleanser works wonderfully, one little hitch...it smells so bad it is hard to want to use. For real, maybe something is wrong with my bottle, and I got a 16ouncer (!) but the smell is similar to mildewing wet dirty clothes. Other than that it leaves skin very clean and very clean after just a few uses!

      Hi Kim,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. Essential Cleansing Solution is creamy and nourishes the skin. I know people who are dry and sensitive like to switch off between the two. I think you'll like it.

For whatever reason if you do not, you can return it within 30 days as part of our satisfaction garauntee.

  • Q:

    Hi,

My skin is extremely dry, sometimes even have small fine flakes on cheekbone after a day outside, even though I use moistures. But I also have acnes break out now and then on my forehead. So I'm not sure if I should use this essential cleansing solution or the special cleansing gel. I want it to help with the dry situation, but I also want the acnes gone... Do you have any good suggestions? Thank you very much!

      A:

      Hi Zona,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. Please try Special Cleansing Gel as a non drying cleanser. Essential Cleansing Solution is oil rich and not ideal for acne skin. Be sure to follow with a hydrating moisturizer like Active Moist.

      Kind Regards,

  • Q:

I have break out prone skin, a bit oily but also flakey and dry so I'm not sure what product to use. I'm using the clearing skin wash, daily microfoliant, mult active toner and active moist. I'm considering using the essential cleansing lotion to help balance my combination skin.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

      Dear Shay,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. It sounds like you are dehydrated. Essential Cleansing Solution is oil rich and will do nothing for dehydrated skin and might make you break out more. Instead, try Special Cleansing Gel. It will deep clean without over drying. use the size of a pea with lots of water.

You can also mix Skin Hydrating Booster into Active Moist. Skin Hydrating Booster is a hydrating, oil-free serum.

      Kind Regards,
      The Dermalogica team

  • Q:

    Hello!

Does essential cleansing solution remove make up and sunscreen?
I have very sensitive skin and is currently using the ultra calming series by Dermalogica.
I am worried about not completely removing the sunscreen with just one cleanser.
Is it advisable to use this cleanser at night? Or is precleanser better? Are these suitable for my ultra sensitive skin?

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks!
