clear start

Clear Start is a system of nine serious products that utilize medicated ingredients and soothing botanicals to deliver real results.

Clear Start™ was created by the skin health experts at Dermalogica, the brand that’s been changing the face of skin care for more than 25 years. It became clear that no one was addressing the needs of teens – not only with products that get results, but also with the education they need – when Dermalogica Founder Jane Wurwand’s own daughters entered their teenage years.

how it works

Skin care product choices available to teens may be ample, but they aren’t good choices. Products for teens often contain harsh and inexpensive ingredients to strip the skin of oil, and are filled with artificial fragrances and colors – all things that can irritate and strip oil from skin, causing more problems than you started with!

Amazing, life-saving treatment

By

from New York, NY

Comments about clear start breakout clearing kit:

I am extremely grateful to the dermatologica company for creating this fantastic trial kit. I have been struggling for acne for at least 6-7 years and I finally feel that this kit is solving the problem. I have been on multiple medications (oral doxycylcine), benzoyl peroxide/clindamycin, but none of them seemed to work. It came to the point where I would hate to go outside or even look at myself in the mirror and caused huge self esteem issues. I cut out dairy, meat, etc with minimal results.

What I LOVE about this kit is that it gives specific instructions, when and how much to use each product. It is easy on the face. However, I do have to warn that it takes at least 2-3 weeks to get results. The first week of using this kit caused extreme acne breakouts, which I read online is normal with salicylate treatment. This is my 3rd week and I hope that this routine keeps working. I will definitely be buying the full-size bottles.

Highly recommend for ages 13-20

By

from Chicago, IL

Comments about clear start breakout clearing kit:

I started using this skin care regime when I was finishing my freshman year of college. It worked really well for my skin and helped keep it clear and soft. I really love the matte moisturizer because it has spf in it to protect the skin from the sun. This moisturizer feels very light but effectively moisturizes. I stopped using this product because my skin stopped getting teen acne and more adult acne. Switching to the MediBac adult acne kit! Love Dermalogica products!

Just awful

By

from San Jose

Comments about clear start breakout clearing kit:

When I started out I had maybe one or two pimples I needed help taking care of but after using this product I have developed terrible cystic acne. This product clogged my pores and caused cysts under my skin. Please read the reviews and don't buy this.

Didn't work for me

By

from New York

Comments about clear start breakout clearing kit:

I am a 15 year old girl and I have had forehead acne since I was about 12. I've tried everything from the drugstore so I decided to try something more expensive. This started to work and I was happy. After about Day 20, I noticed I was getting more cysts than I've ever had before. When I started this kit, I had tiny red bumps. Now, I have huge pimples that hurt on my forehead and the sides of my face. Really disappointed.

Struggling with finding the right products

By

from Chicago, IL

Comments about clear start breakout clearing kit:

I'm 16 and I struggle with breakouts. I tried this kit twice, and I had a consistent routine for months, but I didn't notice an improvement. I feel that this kit would be great for teens who have oily skin and acne, but I have dry and sensitive skin. I found this kit not to work for me. The foaming breakout clearing wash was too drying on my skin and the matte moisturizer irritated my skin so I was never able to use it.

Good, but miss the Daytime Treatment

By

from Kansas City, MO

Comments about clear start breakout clearing kit:

This line was the best face treatment I've found, but I've been really disappointed that they took the Daytime Treatment from the kit.

It's a bit confusing now. If you get the trial kit, is there not a treatment for the daytime? I've read that they suggest using their Emergency Spot Fix, but it doesn't seem to be in the kit. Is the kit incomplete? Do most people not need a treatment in the daytime except for the spray and lotion?

Discontinued daytime treatment

By

from Las vegas

Comments about clear start breakout clearing kit:

This kit and this acne set no longer contains the daytime treatment. I was using this routine religiously and it was keeping my skin looking the best it's ever looked and kept my acne away for YEARS!! Now they discontinued the product and I can longer find it anywhere and I am getting acne again because they changed up the whole line!! I'm seriously breaking out now. What the heck I don't even know what to do, I will no longer trust dermologica for my skincare!!
